Can Learning in the Summer be Fun?
Dear Robert,
What do balloons, newspaper houses and Bible stories all have in common? They’re part of the Vacation Kids Camps that Bridge of Hope staff members put together for children during their summer vacation to make learning fun.
And, judging from the eager expressions lighting up their little faces, the kids loved it! This PhotoShow will give you a glimpse of what went on in these one-week Vacation Kids Camps. http://links.mkt561.com/ctt?kn=5&m=2802889&r=MTA1MzQ1ODkxMjQS1&b=0&j=MTcxNjgzNzg3S0&mt=1&rt=0
As you enjoy the photos, please join us in prayer that we will soon be able to reach more children in South Asia with the hope that Jesus offers.
Your prayers will make such a difference in their lives.

Women Read the Bible for the First Time
Dear Robert,
Imagine a small room filled with eager women learning the alphabet. These women, likely all first-generation believers, know that soon they will be able to read the Bible for the first time.
As you’ll see in this PhotoShow, the government has even taken notice of Gospel for Asia’s literacy program. http://links.mkt561.com/ctt?kn=4&m=2752565&r=MTA1MzQ1ODkxMjQS1&b=0&j=MTY5OTkyMTM4S0&mt=1&rt=0
I pray your heart rejoices like mine did to hear this news! And the next time you pick up your Bible, would you also take a moment to lift up this special initiative? It is bringing life to precious women, too often marginalized, as they learn to read for themselves.

20 People Choose to Follow Christ
How would you feel if you kept witnessing to your neighbors only to have doors repeatedly slammed in your face? Gospel for Asia-supported missionary Kapil Gavde faced a similar situation as he tried to share about Christ’s love with people who were very staunch in their traditional religious beliefs. See how he responded. http://links.mkt561.com/ctt?kn=6&m=2660210&r=MTA1MzQ1ODkxMjQS1&b=0&j=MTY2MjE2MjI3S0&mt=1&rt=0
Thank you so much for your prayers for missionaries like Kapil. God is using them to break down barriers so that precious men, women and children can experience His redemptive love!

Prayer Heals Man Suffering from Grave Illness
Dear Robert,
Have you ever felt like no amount of prayer could heal a person or that a sickness was just too advanced for prayer to even matter?
Gospel for Asia-supported pastor Akmal Dutta felt that way after seeing Rehman Dasgupta’s physical condition. He wondered if he should pray for such a healing, knowing that it seemed nearly impossible. But Pastor Akmal believed in the power of God. He prayed and fasted for Rehman because he knew the Lord was a God of miracles. http://www.gfa.org/news/articles/praying-faith/?cm_mmc=GFA-_-Email-_-377991-_-091107-segment-friends
Thank you for giving people like Rehman a chance at a second life by continuing to pray for GFA-supported pastors like Akmal.

Flood Update
Dear Robert,
Thanks to the prayers and support of believers like you, many flood victims in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, India have, so far, been spared from the catastrophic health problems that usually occur in the aftermath of disasters like this. We’ve got an update on the situation from a Gospel for Asia staff physician here. http://links.mkt561.com/ctt?kn=1&m=2456110&r=MTA1MzQ1ODkxMjQS1&b=0&j=MTYxMzE3NzI2S0&mt=1&rt=0
Please continue to pray for the people in these areas. Now that the water is receding, they are facing the monumental task of cleaning up and rebuilding their lives. They will need the hope and strength of Christ as they endure these hardships.

Orissa One Year Later: Christians Still Suffering

Things are still desperate for the state’s Christians, but there is hope on the horizon. And Gospel for Asia is already rebuilding homes—and lives—in this embattled area.

Tumor Disappears After Prayer
Dear Robert,
Imagine spending 20 years with a tumor the size of a lemon growing in the back of your head and not having any possibility of acquiring medical treatment.
For Naveen, this was a reality. It wasn’t until a Gospel for Asia-supported missionary invited him for prayer that he experienced a cure. http://www.gfa.org/tumor-disappears-after-prayer?cm_mmc=GFA-_-Email-_-377991-_-090818-weekly-final

PRISONERS LEARN THEY ARE NOT FORGOTTEN
Dear Robert,Picture yourself in a jail cell, perhaps far from home. What thoughts might run through your mind as you sit in your cell for hours on end? Thoughts of sadness? Regret? Loneliness? Perhaps even thoughts of ending your life?
Then imagine how it would make you feel to know that there was a team of people who cared enough about you to come and visit you and your fellow inmates. This really happened! And you can read all about it in this week’s PhotoShow here.
I don’t know how I can thank you enough for standing in prayer with Gospel for Asia-supported ministry teams like the one in this PhotoShow as they show the incredible love and kindness of Jesus to hurting and forgotten people. For such men and women, and the lives they touch, your prayers make all the difference!

How a Pig Became a Blessing!
Dear Robert,
Imagine if you had to search for work each day, laboring in harsh conditions and extremely long hours just to barely make enough to feed your family. Think if you had to send your children to work because you could not find a job, and still, you wondered where your next meal would be coming from. These are everyday issues that people in Asia struggle with. But thanks to the generosity of people like you, lives are being transformed! View this PhotoShow to see how God is using a small pig to transform one family.
Thank you so much for your heart to bless those in need. I would encourage you to prayerfully consider giving a gift that will not only help meet basic needs, but will demonstrate the love of Christ and make an eternal difference.

After the Tsunami: A Bridge of Hope
Dear Robert,
More than four years ago, Sri Lanka was devastated by a deadly tsunami. Gospel for Asia teams were the first ones on the scene, and we pledged to stay until the lives of the people were rebuilt. We were especially concerned about the children. Today, GFA-supported workers are still there, and how God has used their efforts is amazing. I think you will enjoy this special PhotoShow about how a Bridge of Hope center is touching the lives of an entire Sri Lankan village.
Caring Christians like you are helping us touch the lives of children and their families in communities like this one all across South Asia. I’m praying that you’ll be encouraged as you see how your prayers are making a difference.
